Deloris Jean Boyer

Deloris was born on October 30, 1930 to Marvin and Mildred Schmitz Webster just east of Jefferson, Oklahoma on her family's homestead farm and passed  from this life on December 14, 2016 Share Medical Center in Alva, Oklahoma. Deloris graduated from Medford High School in 1948.

She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Dean Boyer, on July 19, 1953 at the United Methodist Church of Medford.  She worked at her Dress store and the Southwestern Bell Telephone office as an operator until the telephone company moved to Enid.  She then began working as the city clerk for Medford for two years and then became a secretary for the Medford Public School until she retired in 1991.

Deloris was a member of the Eastern Star of Medford, a member of the Busy Moms Club from its beginnings in Medford and an active member of the Methodist Women's Group.

Deloris loved to be on the go and would not turn down a chance to travel out of town for any reason.  She loved having coffee with her friends at Margie's Café both morning and afternoon.  During the evening, at Margie's, many friends would meet for their evening meals to talk and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. 

Those who preceded Deloris in death include her parents, Marvin and Mildred Webster and her three cousins, Nevaleen Joy Selmat, Beryl Kindred and J.D. Unbehauen.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Boyer; son, Steven Boyer and wife, Gretchen; daughter, Donnetta Tanio; brother, Donald Webster and wife, Kay; cousins, Freda Mae Kretchmar, Norma Osborn, Cleo Max Schmitz, Shirley Kindred, Marjorie Unbehauen; grandchildren, Severn Boyer, Jessica Collier, Tristan Collier and Katy Tanio; great grandchildren, Paytin Collier, Anna Collier and Jahari Collier Reed; and many loved friends of Medford.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Medford. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the 1893 Land Run Historical Center through the funeral home.
