Robert was born to Joe and Dena (Jantz) Buller on, October 29, 1927 on a farm south of Goltry and
passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Fairview Fellowship Home. Robert attended grades one through eight at Goltry Public School and graduated from Oklahoma Bible Academy, Meno in 1945. Robert crossed the mighty Cimarron River to win the heart of his mate of 65 years, Mary Ann Bartel of Fairview, whom he married April 16, 1950. They were blessed with three children, Yvonne, Bobby, and Jon.
Robert’s passion, vocation, and hobby was farming, and he did it well. Robert farmed his entire life. He remembered working ground with horses at a young age and finished in June driving a 375 Horse Power tractor with GPS. He, with his brother Virgil, broke sod in eastern Colorado in 1949. From 1956 to 1964
he lived in Enid and worked days at Gold Spot Dairy as a milk route driver and evenings and weekends farming at Goltry. After moving back to Goltry in 1964, he farmed full time up until June of this year.
Robert was one of the first in the area to incorporate stocker cattle in his farming operation. Robert was a strong Christian and loved singing and listening to gospel quartet music. His strong bass voice was heard for many years in the Grace Mennonite Quartet with Lon Janzen, Shorty Unruh, and Richard
Froese. He last sang “Just A Little Talk With Jesus” at a family reunion August 8, 2015. His family will always cherish that moment.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil and Elgin; sisters, Opal, Mildred, Ruby, and Tillie; and great-granddaughter, Avery Clutter.
